Miscellaneous Press is pleased to announce that submissions are open for Miscellaneous Voices: Australian Blog Writing No.1
Are you an Australian citizen living either in the country or overseas and have a quality blog post that showcases your individual voice, your art or work, your life, your values and opinions?
Then we want to see it.
Would you like to see blog writing taken more seriously by sceptics? Help prove that blogging produces strong and dynamic talent? Moreover, that it should be celebrated and commended?
Us too.
Here’s your chance to be a part of this upcoming anthology.
Please read the guidelines below:
Submission Conditions
• Entries must be received by Thursday 31st December 2009
• Entries must be posts published between 1st Jan 2009 – 31st Dec 2009
• Each entry must be the author’s original work, in English, not previously featured in any offline publication
• Pieces are considered anonymously. Do not include your name or any identifying information on your submission, only the title
• Copyright of individual pieces remains with the author/artist
• Successful contributors will be notified of their acceptance within a six week period after the closing date. Please include an email contact
• Contributors will receive a complimentary copy of the anthology
• We ask that there is a maximum of three posts submitted per person
Fiction
• 3000 words maximum
• May be up to three individual posts
• All genres considered
Poetry
• 100 lines maximum in one poem or a suite of poems
• May be up to three individual posts
Non-Fiction
• Non-Fiction including: personal essays/memoir, opinions, reviews, or social commentary
• 3000 words maximum
• May be up to three individual posts
Artwork
• Black and White or Colour Images will be considered. Please note: within the text the images will be printed as black and white. Only the cover may appear in colour
• Limit of three submissions
• The image must be able to fit into 240mm x 148mm dimensions, or approx. 240mm x 296 mm if to be stretched over front and back covers
• Please provide a printed copy and the link(s) for where these image(s) may be seen at Flickr, Photobucket, etc. for consideration
• If selected, we will need the high-resolution image provided on CD
Online Entries
• Send your entries as an attachment and not in the body of an email. Rtf or MS Word is preferred. Also include the completed cover sheet of personal information, including permalink (URL) of original post(s)
• Your subject line must read: “MV09 Submission {insert your full name}”
Print Entries
• Formatting guidelines: entries must be double spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman on A4 paper with numbered pages, unstapled. Submissions will not be returned
• Also include the completed cover sheet of personal information, including permalink (URL) of original post(s)
